New Materials in the Church Library
 

All materials can be checked out and are located in the bookshelf under the stain glass window. Remember books can be checked out for 3 weeks while DVD’s are only for 1 week.

NONFICTION:

1. Glimpses of Heaven: True Stories of Hope and Peace at the End of Life's Journey by Trudy Harris. Through the eyes of a former hospice nurse, this book gives an intimate look at the final thoughts and visions of 40 terminally ill and dying people.

2. Crossing the Threshold of Eternity: What the Dying Can Teach the Living by Robert Wise. This book records the last words and experiences of people at the edge of heaven, giving us reassurance of hope and peace.

3. The Journey Home: Finishing With Joy by Bill Bright. Dr. Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, shares his unwavering faith of knowing God's purposes through personal struggles as he faces death.

4. Are We Living in the End Times? by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. The creators of the Left Behind series lay out twenty reasons for believing that the Rapture and Tribulation could occur during our generation.

5. The Everyday Bible. This Guidepost text presents the bible in a language that is easy to understand.

6. Invitation: Billy Graham and the Lives God Touched by Basyle and Aram Tchividjian. The authors/ grandsons of Billy Graham relate stories of real people transformed by God.

7. The Buzzards are Circling but God's Not Finished With Me Yet by Stan Toler. The author/pastor believes we need laughter to shoo away life's challenges, always knowing that God is truly in control.

8. God Has Never Failed Me, But He's Sure Scared Me to Death a Few Times by Stan Toler. For anyone who has ever felt frazzled, hurt, or uncertain about life, Toler reminds us to face those tough times with the sense of humor God gave us.

FICTION:

1. Saluting Grandpa: Celebrating Veterans and Honor Flight by Gary Metivier. Andrew encourages his great-grandfather, a WWII veteran, to participate in the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., to see the memorials built for the heroes.

DVDs

1. The Jesus Movie. Children can experience the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus through this 80-minute animated story.

2. Angel Wars: Guardian Force. Eli and Kira, angels of the Guardian Force, battle fallen spirits in this animated adventure.

3. The Flo Show Creates a Buzz. After insulting her guests, Flo apologizes to her friends, learning to ask for forgiveness in this Hermie and Friends DVD.

4. Where the Rubber Meets the Road. Through high-octane adventures along the road of life, animated cars learn consideration, uniqueness, patriotism, citizenship, and loyalty.

5.God's Trombones. James Earl Jones narrates "The Creation," "The Prodigal Son," and "Go Down Death" in this claymation DVD.

6. The Pond: There's Something Funny in the Water. Kids will laugh as they learn Bible-based lessons with animated friends from Good-Times DVD.

7. 'Twas the Night Before Easter. This VeggieTales, 'hare-raising' adventure encourages children to help others.

8. Horned Avenger: The Battle Against Von Boredom. The Horned Avenger won't stand idly by as Baron Von Boredom stalk do gooders in this animation DVD.

9. Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. With the help of a wise lion, four siblings enter the magical land of Narnia to free it from the evil White Witch.
